Weekend Recap

The Astros game was very eventful! It started with us driving to the ballpark in a torrential downpour! The boys, being the gentlemen they are, let us out at the curb to buy tickets (and not get wet) while they went to park. We were very grateful for this gesture because the boys showed up 10 minutes later completely SOAKED! They had found free parking and had to run a long way in the rain. Thankfully the stadium has a roof that (of course) was closed because of the rain. So we were able to enjoy the game completely dry. :) It was interesting watching baseball inside, but it was a very nice stadium.

Lucky for us, we got picked to be the Upper Deck row of the game!! Since we were bestowed this honor we were given free baseball cards!! Here is Eli and Laura pretending to be excited about our prizes. We thought the cards were pretty lame, especially since we didn't really know any of the players we got. Anyways, we did get our 15 seconds of fame on the jumbo-tron. I tried to get a picture but wasn't quick enough, darn it.

And, since it was Friday night we got treated to a fireworks show!!

All in all. we had a good time!!

Me and Bryan decided to paint some of our furniture on Saturday. We went and picked up some paint at Home Depot and got to work! We painted our coffee table, end table, and dining room table and chairs. The first three are finished, and now we just have the chairs to go. I will post pictures soon of our painting masterpieces. We can't believe how much a little paint made such a big difference!

Saturday night the boys went to a Texans game and Laura and I went and saw The Time Traveler's Wife. It was very romantic, and I really enjoyed it! Afterwards we came back to our house and did a little stamping! Here are some of our creations...

The left is mine and the right is Laura's. Looks like we are in the mood for fall! :)

P.S. I hope everyone had a great first day of school today! I'm looking forward to substituting, and hopefully by this time next year I will have my own classroom!
