Show Us Your Life: Wedding Reception & Honeymoon

Once again, it's time to participate in Kelly's weekly, "Show us where you live!" We've been married about 2 months now, and I love to show off our wedding! This first picture was my favorite part of our reception...the candy buffet!! I had been planning this for a long time. As long as there was candy, I know the wedding would be great! :) We had Gumballs, Sour Patch Kids, Reeses Pieces, Rolos, Skittles, Twizzlers, and Reeses PB Cups. Now what should we put all this candy in you ask...

How about these!! We ordered these green (of course) take out containers, and had these custom labels made. They matched the invitations that were done by Stacy of Inkspot Workshop. She has the cutest designs, you should check them out here. We still have some left over, so I'm trying to think of a cute idea for them. Maybe I can just send our guests home with little treats! :) These were so much fun to take on the honeymoon filled with tasty candy!

Me and my Lil Joe. He can ALWAYS make me laugh!!
Bryan and his mom Carla. I know all four of us had to talk the whole time during both dances so we wouldn't cry.

Here is my cupcake cake! I had 3 flavors: chocolate with raspberry, lemon cream cheese, and carrot cake with cream cheese icing. YUM!!!!! I adore cupcakes, if you don't already know.
Here is Bryan's chocolate A&M baseball cake. Some friends went to pick up his cake on THE DAY of our wedding and there was no cake to be had. The bakery had no record of the order! They eventually figured out they had written down the order for July 13 instead of June. But they promised they would make the cake for us, and as you can see they followed through!

We also had a photo booth at the reception that served as our guest book. My good friends Kaitlin and Kylie were in charge of taking the photos. At all the tables there were pieces of paper that each guest wrote on. They could write advice for us or funny stories. I am actually working on putting it altogether. It's really fun going back and seeing what everyone wrote. I am going to enjoy having this special keepsake for years to come. I will show you once it's finished. (Side note: thanks Carla for all the supplies to put the book together. I've overwhelmed by how much stuff I have. I am so thankful and blessed to have a mother in law like you!!!)

This may have been my most favorite part of the whole wedding. I have tons of favorites, so it's hard to pick. I guess that's a good thing. :) My mom found these colors online, and they were perfect! Everyone threw SPRINKLES at us as we were leaving. Not rice, not bubbles, not sparklers, but sprinkles!! I don't know when I came up with this idea but I love it! Even though we did spend about 30 minutes afterward getting the sprinkles out of our hair. It was worth it!

Here we are leaving in our precious horse drawn carriage. Could this day have gotten any better!?! That's our cowboy friend Mike in the front seat. Him and his wife Charlie run Moon River Ranch and are the nicest people. They were great hosts and a big help to us!

Well I guess now it's time to move on the the Honeymoon. I'll try to keep it short since I overloaded on the reception pics. We went to the beautiful island of St. Lucia!! It's one of the most southern islands in the Caribbean, close to South America.

We stayed at a Sandals resort which I would definitely recommend. The thing that is nice about Sandals is that it's only couples. Almost everyone there was on their honeymoon! There are 3 Sandals resorts on St. Lucia and we stayed at The Grande. It's all-inclusive which to us means stress free. It's so nice to not worry about taking money with you everywhere you go. We could eat whenever we wanted which was very nice.

We hung out around the resort most of the week except one day. We took a tour of the island. We went snorkeling at the base of the Pitons (the two biggest mountains on the island), saw a volcano, went to the city of Soufriere, and ate some local cuisine. It was quite a trip!

This was the main pool with a swim up bar.

A little hut out on the water. The water was SO clear!

That's us!! :)

Our last day was the most sunny out of the whole week. It was a great way to end the trip!

We were sad to leave we had such a great time!!

  2. We honeymooned in Saint Lucia, too! It was such a hidden treasure for us, as neither of us had even heard of the island before our vacation agent called!
I love the vibrant green used in your reception! I'll have to check out your wedding post from last week to see your wedding pics!

  4. I love the photo booth. We were going to have a poloroid guest book at our renewal but I got too busy and forgot it.
I'll probably have one at our son's graduation party.
