Decking the Halls

"Down in a lowly manger, our humble Christ was born. And God sent us salvation, that blessed Christmas morn!"

Merry Christmas!

Kelty turns 2!

Today is Kelty's 2nd birthday!! We celebrated tonight with pupcakes. I think it's become a tradition. :)

He was a good helper, and licked the beater.

Dad and Kelty kept close eye on the treats as they were baking. I swear Kelty knew they were for him, because he stayed by the oven the whole time!

The finished product! It's peanut butter and carrot cupcakes, with cream cheese for icing and sprinkles to top it all off. :) I even used the special "Happy Everything" plate with the party hat.

2 candles for my sweet boy!

His favorite part! He ate ate it like any kid would, he liked the icing off first. :)

We sure love you Kelty boy! Happy 2nd birthday!

Just what I needed

We are so close to {a much needed} Thanksgiving break at school, and the days leading up to break usually means the kiddos are C.R.A.Z.Y!! Which causes the teacher {me} to be WORN OUT!! But in the midst of the craziness today, one of my littles brings me this note:

Translation: "Thank you I love you for being my teacher."

Melt my heart!!

That sweet note mixed with a super great evaluation from my principal was the little push I needed to get me through the rest of this week. :) I'm looking forward to spending a week off with my hubby and driving home for Thanksgiving. It's the most wonderful time of the year!!

Fierce Competition

On Fridays in Kindergarten, we play a game with our word wall words. I split the kids up into two teams, and they get to decide on team names. These were the team names for today, and as you can see it's proof that the nice guys don't always finish last. :)

Happy Weekend!!

Oct/Nov Iphone Update

I've been MIA on the little ole blog here lately, and I apologize. I feel like we've been going non-stop these past couple of months. So, here's my best attempt at a quick update.

At the first of October, we took a quick trip to Chicago after we went to Nathan {Bryan's brother} and Kendra's wedding up in Wisconsin. It was fun getting to spend a few days sightseeing.

Cloud Gate

Taking a pic of our reflection.

Apple Store on Michigan Ave. after Steve Job's death. And famous Chicago sign

My sweetheart and the skyline

The sweet note I got from one of my littles when I got back! Made my heart melt. :)

Also in October, we attended the ALCS championship game. Bryan and I had so much fun going to the game with both my brothers and their wives. It's a once in a lifetime memory that I will never forget. The atmosphere was indescribable, and the confetti was icing on the cake!

And we are now both officially residents of the DFW area!!!!! We are SUPER excited about this new chapter in our lives, and know without a doubt that this is where we are supposed to be. We had to live apart for a few months while we got everything ready to move, and we are really enjoying being back together. And Kelty loves having his family all in the same place!

Here is Kelty cuddling with his dad. :)

We even had a date night last Tuesday to see David Cook and Gavin DeGraw. I was up wayyyyy past my bedtime {especially on a school night} but it was worth it. I really enjoyed seeing Gavin DeGraw live; he was extremely entertaining

And last weekend Bryan headed up to Oklahoma to watch the A&M vs. OU game, and I went to visit my Nana and Ken up in Guthrie, OK. My parents brought Elliot, and I drove up with Ryan and Brittyne. We had a relaxing weekend, complete with a nature hike, four wheeling, and Elliot playing vet with Nana's cat, AC. She sure is good entertainment! :)

And that's been our lives in a nutshell. I'll do my best to keep this thing updated! :)

I've been busy...

working on MY VERY OWN classroom!

This is where I've spent most of my time the past 2 weeks. School started last Tuesday, and I've never been so exhausted. It's been a long few weeks but I'm LOVING Kindergarten!

Southern Football

With my love for ALL things southern, I'm super excited about A&M's potential move to the SEC. I'm ready to embrace all the traditions that encompass southern football. First up...
I'm ready to break out my pearls, maroon dresses, and cowboy boots and get one step closer to becoming a southern belle. :)

Gig 'Em Y'all!!

InstaFriday

Today, I'm linking up with Jeanette at Life Rearranged for InstaFriday! It's a showcase of all my Instagram photos from the past week. Documenting my life through my iPhone.

Last Friday, we enjoyed a sweltering Rangers game. Don't think the temperature got below 100 degrees, until around the 6th inning. It was H-O-T. But, the Rangers came through in extra innings with an exciting win. Super fun to see live, and there was a fabulous fireworks show to top off the night!

Our view.
I love that one of the things we have in common is our love for baseball. We met our parents up in DFW for the weekend, and enjoyed hanging out with them!

And of course we had to try In-N-Out! The order line was out the door, then we had to wait around for a table to open. But we did and it was worth it. Delicious! We are glad to welcome them to TEXAS.

I also got to spend some time shopping with my mother-in-law. We finally got to make a trip to the famous City Craft in Dallas. I bought some Dr. Seuss fabric, in hopes of having a classroom to use it in SOON.

I celebrated the start of football season {and my love of Tony Romo} by wearing my new Cowboys shirt, to cheer on the boys in their first preseason game. Start of football means fall is close by! I'm dreaming of cooler weather and all things pumpkin!

I also got to play with some sweet kiddos this week, and this is what our morning consisted of. Lots and lots of play dough. And yes, that's a band-aid amidst all the chaos. Because ya know, band-aids fix anything! :)

My sweet pup has had a rough few days. He had a sore on one of his paws, which caused him to limp for a few days. He looked so sad, limping around the house and up and down the stairs. But I'm glad to say it has healed, and he's back to normal. Next time we send him to the ranch, he may have to wear shoes!

I had to include this handsome picture of my love. I made him take it at In-N-Out, and I don't think he was happy to be taking a picture so I didn't really get a smile out of him. But I got this even better serious/half smile/smoldering look. I'm loving it! And I'm one lucky girl. :)

Happy Weekend!

The Many Adventures of Kelty Dog

Our little Kelty sure has a personality! He continues to keep us on our toes with his interesting behaviors and quirks. For one thing (and this might be TMI) he doesn't like to poop at our apartment complex. We've lived here since the first of May and I'm pretty sure he's only gone 3 times total. This means many trips to the dog park for us. Apparently, he likes to feel free (i.e., off the leash) to do his business. Silly boy.

He has also started going into his crate at random times and sleeping. It's so funny because we use his crate for discipline and to calm him down. So when we want him to go in, he's not a fan of it. I guess it has to be on his own terms.

Here he is checking out what's going on in the backyard at my parent's house.

He loves his sweet cousin Charleigh! He was so sweet with her, and only barked when she cried.

He was good company for dad on the long drive back to Houston!

He LOVES to cuddle. Always climbs right on top of me, and sticks his face in mine.

So proper. :)

And his favorite spot is on top of the back of the couch. He must have learned this from his uncle Fenway! ;) He sits up there, looks out the window, and barks at unsuspecting people walking by. He doesn't quite fit up there, so he likes when we are on the couch so he can prop himself up. Thanks dad!!

Boy is he a handful! Have I mentioned we aren't ready for kids yet? Kelty keeps us busy enough, ha!
