Sports in the Big D

I loved spending last weekend in DFW. It's one of my favorite places to be, and I would LOVE to live there. :)

We started the weekend off bright and early Saturday morning. We dropped Kelty off at the ranch around 7, and after a quick stop at Starbucks {pumpkin spice latte, yum!} we were headed north!

Once we got into town we checked into our hotel, ate lunch at Chick-fil-A, then headed to the famous Cowboys Stadium. We were there about 2 hours early so we had plenty of time to check out the new digs.

Here is us waiting for the doors to open.

You can see the big glass doors that slide open, exposing the sides of the stadium. It was pretty cool to watch them open.

The BIG screen

This was a fountain on the 2nd level...fancy.

We had a great view of the ballpark.

The view from our seats. We were on the 3rd level, 3 rows from the top. :(

Dr. Pepper lounge on the 3rd level. I liked the light fixture with the colored balls.

Before the game they honored former Arkansas and A&M players that now play for the Cowboys.

Martellus Bennett aka "Marty B" (that's for you Dad and Jordan)

Stephen McGee looking good sporting his A&M gear. :)

Aggie end zone. It was crazy being there Saturday and then watching the Cowboy game on TV Sunday and the end zones were re-painted!

The Aggies lost but only by 1 touchdown. It was a fun game to watch!! After the game we ran over to the ballpark to catch the end of the Ranger game. My mom came out and gave Bryan her ticket so he could watch the last couple of innings. What a sweet mother-in-law!! :)

My favorite part of the weekend was hanging out with my fam! We waited outside for the game to finish {Rangers lost...sad} and then we all headed to BJ's for dinner.

The Boys

Our time together was short and sweet but I'm soooo thankful we got to see them. I treasure all the time I get with family because it's few and far between since we live so far away.
We ended up being 0-4 with all the games that weekend. :( It was a very sad weekend for Texas sports.

We're watching the Rangers right now and praying for a WIN! Hoping we are celebrating later tonight!!

This weekend Bryan and I are participating in a 5 mile run downtown. It's called Park-to-Park Run because you run from Discovery Green to Hermann Park. I'll be sure to take pictures and blog about how it goes....if I survive, ha!!!

  1. The Rangers won!! I am so glad. We stayed up just to see it. I'm impressed - you're doing a 5 mile run. I don't think I can walk that far.
