September Preview

Yesterday was the first day of school for my preschool kiddos. We had an awesome day, and I think our class is going to be great this year. We have a good group of precious 3 year olds, who seem to be pretty mellow. They loved learning what each of their "jobs" were in the classroom, and they are full of so much personality too. My favorite moment of the day was at lunch. One of the sweet little boys was sitting next to me eating his lunch when he turned to me and said, "So....what did you do this weekend?" It was too cute!! I can't wait to get to know them more. :)

We are really excited for the month of September, because it means many fun things are in store. It's the beginning of fall, which I think has become one of my most favorite seasons. I got an e-mail today saying Starbucks is now serving their pumpkin spice lattes. If that doesn't say fall, I don't know what does!! We have so many things planned for the next couple of weeks.

This Saturday we are attending the first Texas A&M football game of the season vs. Stephen F. Austin. You know fall is just around the corner, when football is starting!! We are going to get to College Station a little early so we can eat at Abuelo's, the best mexican food ever!! It is worth the trip, and one of the restaurants that remind us of home.

Sunday night we are going to a JOHN MAYER concert!! For those of you that don't know, John is my most favorite musician of alllllllllll time. I just love his mellow music and intelligent lyrics. He always puts on a good show.
We have lawn seats at the pavilion up in The Woodlands, and I'm definitely looking forward to it. I'm hoping the weather cooperates as well, and we'll have a nice relaxing date night.

We don't have any plans for Labor Day, but I'm sure we'll come up with something fun. At least it will be nice getting to spend the whole day with Bryan. I just loves days like that.

The weekend after Labor Day we are headed up to Colorado to spend some time with Bryan's fam! We are going to visit Nathan, and the boys are going to help him re-roof (not sure if that's the correct term) his house. While me and Carla (and hopefully Nate's girlfriend Kendra) will be shopping. I'm pretty sure the girls are getting the better end of that deal, which is fine by me. ;)
I am looking forward to the Colorado weather and those beautiful mountains. Who knows, maybe we'll move there someday...

Kelty's New 'Do

Today we decided to take Kelty to get a "little" haircut. We went short because it gets so hot down here (especially when you are wearing a fur coat), so we wanted him to be cooler. We weren't really sure what to expect, and were very anxious to see him when we went to pick him up. I wanted to share some before shots so you could get the full effect of the change.

BEFORE
We got him a cupcake toy a couple of nights ago, and he loves it! It looks like he has a mane in this picture, ha!

Here is his furry self acting like he is king of the house...

Here you can really see his fur, and how long it was.

The little fur-ball likes to snuggle with mom. :)

AFTER
No more long fur, but same sweet face.

Full body shot. Crazy how big of a difference it makes! Now you can actually see his cute collar. His tail is still pretty fluffy, and it looks kind of funny.

No more lion's mane.

His coat is so spotted that he looks like a dalmation! They told us to not keep him out in the sun for too long because he could get a sunburn. :) His skin is really light pink, so he burns easily, poor thing.

It feels like we have a new dog! I told Bryan I feel like I should call him something new because he doesn't look like my Kelty. It's going to take some getting used to.

We took him to the same place we board him, so that he would be familiar with the place and people. They said he did good for it being his first time. He didn't like the noise of the clippers or the blowdryers, but that was to be expected. He barks at me every time I use the blowdryer or vacuum at home. But when they finished with him, it didn't seem to phase him one bit. And he is still running around the house like his usual self. :) I'm anxious to see how fast it grows out.

What do you think of Kelty's new 'do??

CARDS

Good morning family and friends!!
So, last weekend I went to a baby shower for one of the girls in our small group from church. She is having a sweet baby girl and I wanted to make a card for her. I'm in love with pennants (they are very popular in the blog world) so I wanted to include that in her card.

It turned out sweet and simple, which was perfect!

I also wanted to share some cards I made when I went home in July. This one I made for my friend Kaylee for her wedding. I actually cut up and used the wedding invitation as part of the card. The colorful pattern was her invitation. It was actually one of the coolest wedding invitations I've ever seen!

I made this one for my friend Kinsey who graduated from high school. I used her school colors.

I didn't make this one for anyone in particular, but I love how it turned out. I really like all the different patterns. I had a stamping night with Bryan's mom and aunt. We had lots of fun!! :)

Had to leave you with a sweet picture of my boys.
I just love them!!

Have a good rest of your week! :)

Softball & Summer

Hello!!

I haven't been updating this much, so I'm trying to be better. Let's start with last weekend.

Saturday morning, we were up bright and early to head to a softball tournament for Bryan's work. It was a fundraiser for United Way, and we had to be there at 8am. The first game was a little rough... as in we lost 17-2 in the 3rd inning. :( But many of the people on our team had never played before, and the other team plays in a league. So it was a little unmatched, or A LOT unmatched.

Bryan was the one who organized his team, and so he was the coach.
He also was the pitcher. He did an awesome job, I was so proud!! He even hit an in the park home run in the 2nd game. WOOOHOOO!

Here is a picture of the team! The Houston heat is evident in this picture. :)
{Bryan is 2nd from the right}

Tuesday of this week I had a meeting for the preschool I'm working at. It's through our church and I'm working 2 days a week, teaching the 3 year olds. We are the Gators, and I'm looking forward to it!!

I can't believe school is starting! I love seeing the new school supplies for sale in stores. New school supplies make me very happy. This also reminds me that we are getting closer to fall. I can't wait, I'm ready for a break from this HEAT!!

Fourth of July

This post is a month late, but I still wanted to recap the fun we had at home.

We had a wonderful Fourth of July. It was filled with family, food, and fireworks!!

First we had a cookout at The Clements' house. The food was soooo good! We always eat REALLY well when we go home. Carla also made an Oreo Ice Cream cake, that is a family recipe, and now one of my favorites.

Nathan came down from Colorado and brought his girlfriend Kendra. We loved meeting her, and had so much fun hanging out with them!!! We look forward to many more of those. :)

Here is the four of us hanging out on the patio.

Kelty made his first trip to Amarillo and loved it! He enjoyed playing with new friends (Heidi and Fenway) and going crazy at the grandparent's houses.

Here are my sweet boys.

I love how this picture turned out!! These are the Clements boys: Keith, Bryan, Nathan, and of course Kelty.

This is little Brian. He is Bryan's cousin Jay's little boy. He loved Kelty, and Kelty was so sweet with him. He just laid on the floor and let Brian do whatever he wanted.

This bodes well for when we have children someday. :)

That evening we picked up some fried chicken and had a picnic in the back of my dad's truck. We watched the city fireworks with my parents. The fireworks were a little delayed, but we stuck it out and it ended up being a great show!

Had to include a pic of this little firecracker!! Borrowed from my brother's blog.

Family time is always the best. We don't take this for granted now that we live so far away.

Happy 4th of AUGUST!! :)
