Today it's all about Christmas trees! I'm especially excited because it's our first Christmas together as husband and wife! We got to go home for Thanksgiving and while we were there I got to go shopping at Hobby Lobby for Christmas decorations with my mom and mom-in-law. I had so much fun, and I wish we could do it more often. I am blessed that they get along so well and that we can all go shopping together...I just love it! I am so thankful to have two great role models in my life. I love you girls!! Anyway, when we got back I was ready to put up our tree so Monday night we headed out and bought our first real Christmas tree. It was really fun getting to pick it out together, and it smells wonderful! We came back home set it up and decorated it and this is the finished project. The theme of our tree is red/lime green/polka dots/Letter C (for our last name).
I got this ornament when we all went shopping together in Amarillo and I think it's my favorite!! I love the combination of stripes and polka dots.
My mom ordered this from Pottery Barn for us during last Christmas, so I have waited a long time to use it! It looks perfect on our tree, and I love how the lights shine through it.
Carla got us this ornament this year and it's perfect!! It's matches because it's green and red, and more importantly it's a cookie with sprinkles!
I can't wait to collect many other "C" ornaments over the years. I think I would like that to be our tree theme. Thanks for getting us started moms! :)
Lastly, here is a picture of our tree skirt and presents. The skirt is a $7 fleece blanket from Wal-Mart! It was cheap, looks great, and is so soft. I bought our green and white polka dotted wrapping paper from Hobby Lobby. Now I just need to find some red ribbon to tie on the packages.
Now it's your turn, I want to see everyone's decorations.
Please post pictures of your trees!!
p.s. We are supposed to get SNOW today! Can you believe it?!?! I am way excited, now it will definitely put me in the mood for Christmas!
