Dr. Seuss

We had a great time last weekend because my parents came to visit!! I didn't take any pictures, so I can't show any documentation, but I promise they were here! :) We had tons of fun shopping, showing them around, and just hanging out. I LOVE having visitors. Thanks for coming mom and dad!! You were a much needed breath of fresh air. Love you.

Now, I want to tell you about my love for all things Dr. Seuss. I love how whimsical his characters and stories are. They are so fun! When I get a classroom of my own I am going to decorate it in none other than Dr. Seuss stuff! I already have a small collection of things, but I love to search for hours online for more things, dreaming of the day I have my own room. It's crazy how much stuff there really is! I thought I would share some of my fun Dr. Seuss finds from tonight.

The first thing I found was from a Dr. Seuss themed baby shower...how fun! While I am not having babies of my own any time soon....they had so many fun details.

This is the "Horton Hears a Who" table, I think it's my favorite!!

And look at these cool GREEN CUPCAKES!!!

The details from this party are truly amazing. You can check out the rest of the pictures here.

Pottery Barn Kids also has a line of Dr. Seuss stuff. I found this Pop Up book that include excerpts from 7 different book. Sounds so fun!

Here is some custom art from a seller on Etsy. I just love the polka dots. They have little sayings for use in the bathroom, but I think it would be cute to have classroom rules on them. :)

These storage bins would be PERFECT for a classroom. There is an endless possibility of things you could store in them. (I found them on Amazon)

These cute chairs would go great in a reading corner in my classroom. :)

I will leave you with some of my favorite inspirational quotes.

"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go!"

"A person's a person, no matter how small!"

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You're the guy who'll decide where to go."

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

We had the BEST weekend!! My roommate, maid of honor, and best friend, Ashley came down and stayed with us. It was so nice getting to hang out with her, and I loved having her here.

On Saturday the 3 of us took a trip to the pumpkin patch with 6 of our couple friends. The weather was crisp and cool, it was the perfect fall day. It was tons of fun getting to search and pick out our own pumpkins in the crowd of people. Then we brought them back to our house and did some carving. We also roasted the pumpkin seeds, and they turned out tasty!

Here is Bryan's pumpkin, and as you can see it turned out very well. I think he had the best one. :) It's very festive! It's proudly displayed on our front porch.

Gig 'Em Ags!!!

Me and Ash found our pumpkins and wanted to show them off.

We sure were having FUN!!

They had tons of pumpkins to choose from. So Bryan and I got some mini striped ones that were so cute!

The selection to choose from.

This was my FAVORITE pumpkin. I thought it looked vintage. :) I have also heard them called fairytale or Cinderella pumpkins.

I JUST LOVE FALL!!!!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend. :)

John Mayer

New album coming November 17th.

I. am. EXCITED.

His new single came out last Tuesday. It's so mellow, and I just love it. It's the perfect song to play in an acoustic set. Oh John, how I've missed you...
(Pay no attention to the "stoned" line) :)

My Christmas List...

I found what I want for Christmas. A cupcake car from Neiman Marcus. Now I know this isn't the most practical gift, but that chocolate cupcake with the sprinkles is calling my name. :)

You too can have one. For ONLY $25,000.

Check it out: Cupcake Car

Fall = Candy Corn

I am so excited that it's fall!! I just love the newness that each changing of the season brings. It's very refreshing.

This is my list of things I love about fall:
-The crisp cool air..... (well not so much where I live)
-The leaves change (again not so much where I live but I like to imagine) :)
-Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks
-CANDY CORN makes it's annual debut
-Thanksgiving (One of my favorite holidays)
-Halloween (Now I'm not a fan of the holiday but I sure am a fan of all the candy!)
-Time to break out the soups (I've already made my first batch of Taco Soup of the season)
-Pumpkins (We plan on going to the pumpkin patch and carving pumpkins next weekend)
-Pumpkin flavored things (muffins, breads, scones, cookies, pies.......)
-Apple Cider (YUM!)

-I can now eat the tasty fall mix of candy corn and peanuts, and put it in this cute candy dish from Hobby Lobby!

-I love fall scents. They are so comforting, especially this candy corn candle!! (Thanks Pam!)

-Fall decorations are another thing that make me so happy! I found this at Ross today and had to buy it because it had candy corn, a cupcake, and polka dots. It screamed Ashlan. :)

-This is a great substitute when I don't want to run to Starbucks for a latte. My sweet husband makes them for me on the weekends. I sure am spoiled!

As you can see, I am ready for fall.
Now if only the weather would cooperate.
