Monogrammed Mailbox

I've made it no secret of my LOVE of all things monogrammed. So, when we moved into our house I saw our shiny new black mailbox and decided it was the perfect place for our monogram! Lucky for me, my friend Dedra owns her own business Sassyfrass Phrases. I asked if she could cut some vinyl for the mailbox. She showed me a few fonts, I chose my favorite, and Voila!!! I now have a monogrammed mailbox and I absolutely love it. :)

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday! Hope you all had a great weekend. Ours was full of all kinds of NEW things. :)

Last Tuesday, we went on our field trip to Central Market. It is a local grocery store (local to TX) but it's not your ordinary store.

They had tons of fun eating outside, playing on the castle playground, and then taking a tour. They got to taste green lemonade with parsley, spinach, celery, and cucumber juices. Some of their reactions were great! They also got to pet a lobster, and try cheese and gelato! Tomorrow, we will be filling out our field trip booklets, where they will get to compare prices and write about their experience.

The first memorable part about this weekend is....we bought a new car! Bryan sold his beloved Tacoma, and we bought a BMW X5. Don't feel cool or fancy enough to own a BMW, so here goes nothing! It's been fun driving it around this weekend. It has some really neat features, that have been fun trying to figure out. I can't wait for my commute in the morning! (Never thought I'd say that!)

Bryan and Kelty had to jump in to checkout the cargo space!
The back has a little tailgate that pops down.

**And for the record, I was a little sad as well seeing the Tacoma drive off. I'd gotten used to driving it, and it's been in the Clements family longer than I have!

And my new table and chairs got delivered. They were the perfect finishing touch to the space. We got the table at Haverty's (Ralph Lauren Collection), but didn't like the chairs it came with, so we mixed and matched with some other ones in the store until we came up with this combination. It's counter height with a quartz top. Now we just need to center the light!

We finished up our weekend with a trip down the street to Curly's Frozen Custard. We tried out the Frito Pies and their Concretes. We now live in walking distance to this and Dairy Queen! Better start the workout plan NOW! :)

I made banana bread tonight, and now we are busy getting ready for the week ahead. It's that time of the day, when you realize the weekend is coming to an end, and you have to go to work tomorrow. But, we only have 6 more weeks of school left! (but who's counting?)

HOUSE!

We have been spending the last week getting settled in our new HOUSE! We thought the day would never come.

WELCOME!

Kitchen hardware
Pantry
Quilt in master bedroom
Light in the kitchen
We had great help from Bryan's parents, and our friends Eli and Laura unpacking and putting stuff away. They were amazing!

Last Thursday, we got a fun surprise when Seth, our sales guy from HD homes brought us dinner from Central Market. So thoughtful, and YUMMY!

Then this last weekend, we got a visit from my family! I had fun showing them my house and around Ft. Worth. We even unpacked the board game box!! We played Life and Cranium. I even tried to make a hoodie with play dough. Bryan couldn't guess what it was, but I thought it looked pretty good!

And my favorite part of the weekend, was when we bought this table!! I've had my eye on this guy for months now. I didn't like the barstools that originally came with it (in the pic), so we went to Haverty's and found some even better ones! It gets delivered this coming weekend, and I could not be more excited. I'll be sure and take pictures when it comes in.

The best thing about building a house is the time we had to prepare. We started this process last June, so that gave us almost a year to save up. We could spread out our spending over the months (refrigerator, couch, rug) so that when it came time we were ready. It also gave us time to hit some big sales! When we moved in it was like Christmas, getting to open up and use all our new stuff!

I feel like I actually have a "style" now, and it was so neat seeing my vision come together!

That about wraps it up for this Monday. We've been busy gearing up for our field trip tomorrow at school. Central Market here we come!

Spring, School, Southern, SOON!

SPRING
It sure has been feeling like Spring around here. The weather has been gorgeous!! Last weekend, I painted my nails in this fun mint shade (Essie mint candy apple). I had to try to be trendy and did the ring finger in a silver sparkle. So fun! And spring means the transition from hot lattes to ICED lattes, yum!

SCHOOL
Top Left: Fun pencils make my day! (Gotta love the Target dollar spot)

Top Right: 2nd grade poetry "fast on weenies"

Bottom Left: 2nd grade poetry "Purple smells like Jose" See also: "Purple makes me hot."
I'm sure you wonder what I'm teaching in 2nd grade, and I don't know what to tell you...

Bottom Right: Grading is a lot more fun with new neon markers and PB M&M's

SOUTHERN
I have decided I have a love for all things monogrammed: rain boots, rain jackets, hats, t-shirts, chairs, cups, etc. It's the Southern Belle inside me. I ordered this fun monogramed hat for moving day and I found this super fun monogramed iphone wallpaper. I just can't get ENOUGH. See my monogram Pinterest board for more evidence. :)

SOON...
And last, but certainly not least THIS FRIDAY we will be moving into our new house! I can't tell you how excited I am for my little family. This is my front door, that I love! We started this whole process last June, so we are r.e.a.d.y.

Next update will be from our new casa! Stay tuned...
