For my mom

Heard this song on the radio yesterday and fell in love with it. Just wanted to share it with my momma. :)

Mama, you taught me to do the right things.
So, now you have to let your baby fly.
You've given me everything that I will need.
To make it through this crazy thing called life.
And I know you watched me grow up,
and only want what's best for me.
And I think I found the answer to your prayers.

And he Is good, so good.
He treats your little girl,
like a real man should.
He is good, SO good.
He makes promises he keeps.
No, he's never gonna leave.
So, don't you worry about me.
Don't you worry about me.

Mama, there's no way you'll ever lose me.
Giving me away is not goodbye.
As you watch me walk down to my future,
I hope tears of joy are in your eyes.

Cause, he is good, so good.
And, he treats your little girl,
like a real man should.
He is good, SO good.
He makes promises he keeps.
No, he's never gonna leave.
So, don't you worry about me.
Don't you worry about me.

And when I watch my baby grow up,
I'll only want what's best for her.
And I hope she'll find,
the answer to my prayers.
And that she'll say...

He is good, so good.
And he treats your little girl,
like a real man should.
He is good, SO good.
He makes promises he keeps.
No, he's never gonna leave.
So, don't you worry about me.
Don't you worry about me.

Mama, don't you worry about me.
Don't you worry about me.

I LOVE YOU MOM!!!

Colorado

We had a wonderful time in Colorado. The weather was beautiful, and it was so nice to get to hang out with family. We sure miss that! We flew out Thursday night and Nathan and Kendra picked us up from the airport.

Friday, we got up early and the boys got started working on Nathan's roof, and the girls went grocery shopping.

When we got back we made the boys lunch and then got to crafting!! I had been wanting to make a pennant for a long time, so we decided to make a Fall themed one. Carla has a fancy Big Shot that we used to cut out the fabric.

Kendra and I each made one and then ironed on letters. Hers says "harvest" and mine says, "fall." We used orange and black polka dots, pumpkins, and candy corn fabric.

That night we grilled out chicken, and {delicious} Olathe corn and then headed to the hotel to take advantage of the hot tub!

Saturday, the boys were up early again working, and the girls decided to head into Golden to do some shopping. We walked up the main street and stopped in a quilt shop and a few other stores. Then we stumbled across a farmer's market, and they had so much great stuff! We ended up buying some kettle corn and some peaches, but I really wanted to buy some of this bread.

We headed back to Nathan's and fixed lunch again, then got to work crafting. We let Kendra in on the secret of covered buttons. She made some magnets and I made some clips for my niece Elliot. I bought the colored clips and then covered the buttons in matching fabric and glued them on. I love how they turned out!

That night we went and got pizza from the famous Beau Jo's, and listened to the A&M game on the radio. Then we went hot tubbing again. :) I made this flower during the day in support of the Aggies.

Sunday {Happy Birthday Nathan!!!}, the boys were still roofing, so we decided they needed our help. Everyone got up on the roof and got the job done!

I was a little uneasy being up there, but it was a beautiful view! We handed the shingles to the boys, and they nailed them down.

The finished product, ta-da!

To reward everyone for their hard work we decided to go get pedicures. The boys were excited for a much needed leg massage!! They were big fans of the massage chairs as well. :)

We also went into the cutest Kitchen store that was in the same shopping center as the nail place. That night we cooked hamburgers and watched the Cowboys game. It wasn't the ended we wanted so thankfully we had made Oreo Ice Cream cake to make up for it. We also did cards and gifts for Nathan and Carla's birthdays.

Monday, we had breakfast at the hotel, and then Keith and Carla headed back home. We walked around downtown Evergreen and then Nathan took Bryan and I to the REI in downtown Denver. We browsed a little, got some Starbucks, and then it was time for the airport.

Kelty had fun at the ranch we take him to and was once again exhausted when we picked him up. He slept for the rest of the day. :) Silly puppy.

"It's been a long night in Houston too"

"I don't remember you looking any better, but then again I don't remember you."
{John Mayer: "Who Says"}

We had a little date night Saturday night. It started with some pizza at Grimaldi's Pizzaria in The Woodlands. We tried a new pizza combination and it was delicious! We had grilled chicken, sun dried tomatoes, and kalamata olives.

After dinner we walked over to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. We got to the concert at 6 when the doors opened so we could be sure to get a good seat on the lawn since it's general admission. We brought a blanket, but the hill was muddy so we ended up getting chairs.

The opening band was Owl City. Their popular song is called "Fireflies." We didn't really enjoy them. The lead singer had some interesting dance moves and he had a girl singing with him onstage sounded like she was 12. Oh, well, I like how this picture turned out of the awning.

So we passed the time by taking silly pictures. :)

The lawn was crowded. But we got there early enough that our seats were pretty good. We were almost dead center. We also wasted time by people watching which is always entertaining.

It sure was a fun date night with my hubby!

The main event, John Mayer!! His hair was longer and curly (not my favorite) and it was going a little crazy thanks to the humidity. He also informed us that he had thrown his back out earlier in the day, playing wiffle ball, ha!

Thankfully he had a huge screen behind him so we could see the stage better. If you look really close you can see him standing in the middle of the stage.

John is a very talented guitar player and the fun part of going to his concerts is hearing him jam out with his band. He is also pretty funny (and full of himself at times), so he puts on an entertaining show.

Set List:
Vultures
Bigger Than My Body
Why Georgia
Ain't No Sunshine (Bill Withers)
Heartbreak Warfare
I Don't Trust Myself (With Loving You)
Perfectly Lonely
No Such Thing
Free Fallin' (Tom Petty) **{my favorite}
Who Says
Gravity **{Bryan's favorite}
Do You Know Me
Half of My Heart ———> Don't Stop Believin' (Journey)

Encore:
Edge of Desire

He played all the songs from his new album that I wanted him to play. This was the 3rd time I'd seen him in concert, and he is consistently awesome. He sounds the same live as he does on his records.

Despite the fact that he can be completely full of himself at times, he still puts on a very good show. Or maybe that's why he does, hmmmmm. I follow him on Twitter and was pleased to hear him say this about the concert: "Houston's love kept me out of a chair. Would have loved to jump around but couldn't. Thanks for keeping me upright, TX."

We enjoyed the day off today as well. We had a low key day at home and had some friends over for a cookout of hamburgers. It's been cloudy and rainy all day today, but it ended with this beautiful rainbow right above our house.

Nice end to the perfect weekend. Hope you had a good Labor Day weekend too!

Aggie Gameday!!

We had an awesome time yesterday at the first Aggie football game of the season. The weather during the day was pretty hot, but once the game started it was perfect. Our seats were in the shade the entire time, and the temperature was around 80 degrees. We sat in the bleachers in one of the end zones, right under the jumbotron. We enjoyed being so close to the action!

We got there way early shopped, ate lunch, and then parked and walked around campus. Here is the water tower welcoming us.

On our way to our seats.

Photo opp! I really like how this one turned out. We had to stop by Aggie Outfitters on our way in and get us some new shirts for the new season.

The view from our seats.

The Senior Boot Line, and the players running out on the field.
{Click here for more information on the traditions at A&M}

The ginourmous student section, also known as the 12th man. Glad Bryan already graduated and we didn't have to sit/stand over there, because I enjoy sitting down during the game. :)

Punting...

More action shots

Enjoying the game and nice weather!

The final score was A&M:48 and SFA: 7, Gooooo Aggies! We had a whole row of SFA students that sat in front of us that were kind of obnoxious. That kept things interesting because at a few different times I was sure a fight was going to break out. The cops even came up there a couple of times. It was a fun time for all. :)

We are looking forward to going to the A&M vs. Arkansas game at Cowboys Stadium in October!

Tonight we are continuing the fun at the John Mayer concert!
